Automated Teller Machines are well known and commonly referred to as ATMs. The primary objective of ATMs is to facilitate cash withdrawal requirements of customers. ATMs operate in interoperable environments, which means any bank customer can use any Bank’s ATM for their cash requirements.
Over a period of time, the usage of ATM has increased considering that the use case has gone beyond cash withdrawals. Now ATMs are used for host of non-financial services like balance enquiry, mini-statements, pin change and new age value added services like bill payments, fund transfer, cheque book request, cheque status and stop cheque. With more focus on self-serve, ATMs are now also equipped to accept cash deposits and recycle same for dispensation to next customer. Such ATMs are called Cash Recycler ATMs as they have ability to dispense cash and accept cash for deposit.
